Abstract
Pregnant? No Maternity Coverage?
You are in the right place. But first, let me ask you, did you already
explore all of your options before you came here? Internet has tons of
free information about getting a maternity insurance plan, how to get
maternity insurance while pregnant, lots of articles on "How To's",
Medicaid, WIC, COBRA, group coverage. You'll even come across companies
that are not insurance, but will claim to reduce your maternity bills
down to half for a hefty fee.
Lots, lots and lots of free info. If you haven't checked out any of it
yet, please do so before you come back again. You know why? Because it
will make my job of convincing you to look into my product much easier!
And I don't like to work too hard!
But before I try and convince you any further, I would like to tell you
how this product came about:
Dear Parent To Be,
My husband and I were in the same situation you are in right now. I
April of 2007 I found myself pregnant without maternity insurance. I
was a university student and my husband was self-employed. We were
joyous to find out about my pregnancy, but at the same time our
happiness was clouded by the worry of how we were going to deal with
the maternity bills. We each had an Individual Insurance plan without
maternity coverage.
At first, I wasn't worried at all. How bad can it be? I'll just call my
existing insurance company, explain my situation and they should be
able to figure it out! Right? Boy, was I wrong. I was told, that with
the individual insurance plan that I have, pregnancy is considered to
be a pre-existing condition and they will not cover any of my maternity
expenses.
Okay, I said to myself, this is America, the land of competition. There
are lots of insurance companies out there that would love to earn my
business whethere I'm pregnant or not. So the next thing I did, is call
at least a half a dozen of major insurance companies. And I received
the same exact answer, sorry, can't do!
Then I tried to apply for Medicaid, but unfortunately my husband was
making above poverty level income, so no go on that!
I got a little frustrated. But what the heck, we live in
technologically advanced times, internet should have some information
for me! The amount of information I came across was overwhelming, my
head was spinning. Great, I said to myself, I got to find something
that works for us!
Some articles referred to getting a job with group coverage. But I was
a full-time university student at the time! Was I going to drop my
classes in the middle of the semester so I can go and get a full-time
job for group insurance? That is if anyone would hire me to begin with.
Other articles referred to getting a group insurance plan for
self-employed. Well, maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
Hallelujah, my husband is self-employed! So we started looking into the
cost of the insurance and .... (got to read my product to get the rest
of the story).
At this point we were running out of options. And a wealth of
information on the internet seemed like a mixture of regurgitated data
used over and over in article after article.
Finally, we decided to go with a company that took over half of the
search results in Google for maternity insurance. They are not
insurance, but claimed to signficantly reduce our maternity bills for a
hefty one-time fee of $699. Once we payed, I quickly learned that they
were not what they claimed to be and they were only able to save us $30
throughout my whole pregnancy. Thankfully a year later we were able to
get our money back due to a pending class action lawsuit filed against
them.
So we were out of options! It was time for me to take matters into my
own hands and deal with my maternity bills on my own. I talked with
friends and relatives. Some of my girlfriends were going through a
similar situation and each took a different approach of dealing with
her pregnancy. I hit a few bumps, made some costly mistakes, but
learned a ton and I still managed to save thousands on my maternity
bills.
I saved $2500 on a specialist, $460 on laboratory and god knows how
much on the hospital. I did not do some of the required laboratory
tests at the doctor's office (read my product to find out where), which
saved me over $200.
But since I was still learning, I know I could have avoided paying
extra $500 for the hospital and over $200 for the lab work. Now I know
exactly what to do this time around and I will be saving even more!
Yea, I'm pregnant again!!
And the big thing this time around is, I am not stressing out a bit
about maternity bills. I know exactly what to expect and what to do.
After I got pregnant this time around, I carefully went over all of the
available options, estimated costs involved and made the appropriate
decision for my family!
No stress involved! How much is it worth? I don't mean to sound like a
credit card commercial, but to me, it's priceless!
So how did I do it? I'll tell you right away, I can be a pain in the
a** when necessary. I personally dealt with the `system' by getting on
the phone with the doctor's offices and laboratories. I personally met
with hospital staff to increase my chances of reducing my hospital
bills. I tried various approaches and learned which worked and which
didn't in pursuit of saving money. I saw my friends taking different
routes at dealing with the same situation and got to witness their
results.
Now you get to learn all the tips and tricks of handling your maternity
bills before even getting your feet wet! You will learn about your
options, how to estimate cost of each option, the benefits and setbacks
of each option! How to successfully reduce your maternity bills with
your health care provider!
And from this wealth of information you will get to make the right
decision for you! No stress or uncertainty! Trust me, you will feel
more relaxed and secure in your actions once you read and follow this
guide.

I have a personal blog and before I decided to turn the knowledge I
have into an info product, I published a very small article, giving a
few helpful hints on saving money on maternity. I got a few responses
which I decided to share with you. Again, the article was vague, not
even a page long, with no step-by-step details on bills negotiation
techniques, insurance information, patient choices, etc. The stuff that
you will find in my product. But here is the feedback I got from folks
just like you, who happened to stumble upon my article:
How you handled the minefield of your husband being self employed and
having insurance - but not having the maternity coverage is exactly
what we're going through right now.
...thank you for posting such a wealth of information and experience
and please give our love to your family!
Steve & Adrienne
